    Based on your description, the answer is Yes!

    There is a concept similar to what you’re describing, often referred to as “Vehicle-to-Home” (V2H) or “Vehicle-to-Grid” (V2G) technology. While it’s more commonly associated with bidirectional charging systems that allow electric vehicles to discharge electricity to power homes during outages, not all Level 2 chargers support this functionality.

    V2H/V2G capability requires specific hardware and software integration between the EV, the charging equipment, and the home’s electrical system. Not all EVs are equipped with V2H/V2G capability, and similarly, not all Level 2 chargers support bidirectional charging.

    Several manufacturers are developing V2H/V2G solutions, and some Level 2 chargers with bidirectional capabilities are already available in certain markets. Companies like Nissan, Honda, and Tesla are actively working on this technology, but it’s still relatively limited in availability and functionality.

    Not so much a comment but a question.

    Is there such a thing as reverse level 2 charging, in a scenario where the electrical grid is down and I wish to run my house of the car’s battery.

    The steps I would see:
    1) disconnect the grid feed to the house electrical panel.
    2) flip all breakers to off
    3) plug car into level 2 charger and put the car in utility mode.
    4) flip something on the level 2 charger to enable utility mode to feed the electrical panel
    5) flip the critical breakers in the electrical panel for fridge/freezer and any other must-haves
    6) when the power grid is back, turn off the car to electrical panel feed at the level2 charger
    7) turn on the electrical grid connection the the electrical panel
    8) turn on all the breakers to restore power to the house

    Does such a capability exist, and if so which level 2 chargers work like this?
